Cold Case Review and Investigation
Unsolved missing person cases, suspicious deaths, and cold case homicides leave families searching for answers and justice. We believe every victim deserves a voice and are committed to helping in any way we can. Pro bono (free) cold case reviews and investigations are available for select cases. However, not every deserving case can be accepted due to time and resource constraints.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, the following requirements must be met:
- The victim’s family must submit the request.
- At least one clear, color photo of the victim must be provided.
- A police report must accompany the submission.
- If an autopsy was conducted, the full autopsy report must be included.
- The case must have occurred in Louisiana and be at least five years old as of the submission date.
- You must be available for phone, video, or in-person meetings as needed.
Selection Process
Submissions meeting the criteria will undergo further review for solvability.
If your case is accepted, you can expect:
- A fresh perspective on the investigation.
- Exhaustive efforts to uncover new evidence or locate witnesses.
- Confirmation that all available leads have been thoroughly pursued.
- A factual report of findings with supporting documentation.
If your case is not selected, you will be notified.
Regardless of the outcome, a Victim Profile will be created, shared on this site, and posted across various social media platforms. Additionally, you may be invited to participate in an interview about your case on one of our partner “Justice” podcasts.
Limitations
- Specific results cannot be guaranteed.
- Thorough investigations take time and cannot be rushed.
- Case review does not establish a client relationship or an employer-employee relationship.
